Oracle PL/SQL changed my life. Back in 1994, I was an hourly consultant at the headquarters of a "quick service" restaurant company (they don't like calling themselves "fast food" and, in fact, this company is not really a restaurant enterprise but an enormous real estate endeavor). Pay was good, but it sure wasn't my idea of the noble life. Then I somehow hooked up with O'Reilly and Associates and a year later we published the first independent text on PL/SQL: Oracle PL/SQL Programming. It was received very enthusiastically and since then I have focused my professional efforts exclusively on the PL/SQL language. I have written and co-authored nine texts, trained thousands of developers, and published numerous articles.
